Kentfield

According to the United States Census Bureau, the total area of Kentfield is only 3.0 square miles.

It’s history and how Kentfield came to be is interesting . Briefly…In 1857, James Ross bought Rancho Punta de Quentin what is now known as Kentfield. Albert Emmet Kent bought the land from the Ross estate in 1871.  Kent built an estate called Tamalpais and the named was changed to Kent in the 1890s, and finally to Kentfield with the opening of the first post office in 1905.

Kentfield is green and lovely and very private. You’ll cruise along tree lined streets that house beautiful homes and estates. Once there you’ll run into Woodlands Market which continues to be a family owned and operated independent grocery store
